Iran condemns the militant attack in Panjgur

The Iranian Embassy in Islamabad has condemned the militant attack in Balochistan's Panjgur district a day ago, in which at least four security personnel were martyred.

The embassy said that "terrorism is a common challenge faced by Iran and Pakistan, both neighboring countries suffering from this evil phenomenon".

The Iranian diplomatic mission in the capital also expressed sympathy for the victims' families.

The ISPR, the military's media wing, had earlier stated that "terrorists used Iranian soil to target a convoy of security forces" patrolling the border. The fallen soldiers were identified in the statement as Sepoy Asad Ali, Lance Naik Fareed Ullah Khan, Lance Naik Abdul Razzaq, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas Khan.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister, has also strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the nation pays homage to the sacrifices of its martyred soldiers.

President Arif Alvi and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have condemned the attack.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Information and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb expressed her deep sorrow over the martyrdom of four security personnel.

She told journalists that the attackers intended to harm Pakistan-Iran relations, but that "our morale is high and our security forces are determined to defeat the terrorists."
