INGREDIENTS DONUT RECIPE
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup warm milk. (250 ml)
- 1 medium egg
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp salted butter/margarine
- 2 tsp instant dry yeast
FOR GLAZED DONUTS:
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar/icing sugar
FOR MILKY DONUTS
- 1/2 cup milk powdered
FOR SUGAR-COATED DONUTS:
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Directions for a donut recipe
1. In a large bowl, mix together the egg, flour, yeast, sugar, and melted butter. Then mix in the milk in a portion and knead the dough well. Pour the dough into a greased bowl, cover with cling wrap and let rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
2. After 1 hour, divide the dough into donut sizes. form into a round shape, then rest for 10 minutes.
3. After 10 minutes, poke a hole in the center using a nozzle or piping tip. Use a donut cutter if available.
4. Add cooking oil. In a pan, deep fry donuts. Cook on medium to low heat, flip, and cook until golden brown on both sides. Drain the excess oil and let it cool completely.
5. coating for glazed doughnuts. Combine melted butter, fresh milk, and powdered or icing sugar, coat the donuts, drain and let them set.
SUGAR DONUT: Dredge in granulated sugar until well coated.
MILKY DONUT:- use powdered/skimmed milk, and sift on top of donuts.
