Classic burger Recipe

1. Preheat grill to medium-low heat for direct heat cooking.

2. Break the beef up in a large bowl and season with 3/4 teaspoon pepper and 11/2 teaspoons salt. Gently mix to combine, then form into 4 (4 1/2-inch) patties,

3. Brush the grill grate with oil. Place the burgers on the grill and cook until grill marks appear, which may take 4 to 6 minutes. (Avoid pressing the burgers with the spatula while cooking.) Remove the burgers from the grill and let rest for 1 to 2 minutes.

4. Brush the cut side of the buns with oil and grill the cut side until light golden brown. Place a burger on the bottom of each bun and top with tomato, lettuce, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and bun top. Serve Classic burger with potato chips on the side, if desired.
