Ingredients for a donut recipe

  • ¼ cup melted and cooled butter
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  • 2 quarts of oil for deep frying.
  • 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour.

Instructions for Doughnuts recipe

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and mix well. Add the milk, egg, butter, and vanilla and mix until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a deep fryer or deep frying pan to 185°C (370°F). Roll the chilled dough on a floured board to a 1/2 inch thickness. Use a donut cutter to cut the donuts.

Step 3

Fry the donuts in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. Remove from the oil and drain on a piece of butter paper or a paper plate. Combine the remaining 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon in a large resealable bag. Place a few hot donuts at a time in the bag, seal, and shake to coat.
